When designing Link collection, Junpei & Iori Tamaki envisioned how multiple pieces placed together would create a link, and how that connection would evolve in various ways.
To express Link, Junpei & Iori Tamaki believed that a design with both simplicity and distinctive, memorable features was necessary. For the central pieces of the collection, such as chairs
and sofas, Junpei & Iori Tamaki adopted a design that emphasizes the contrast between the parts wrapped with rope and those without, set against a simple frame structure.
The contrast of Link Collection creates a beauty in the balance of roughness and refinement, allowing both simple design and distinctive design to coexist. Although the table might not seem to share a common shape with the chairs at first glance, the focus on the balance of roughness and refinement ensures that, despite their different forms, a sense of link is maintained in the design.
